Not Good Enough!
It’s not good enough to put recycling labels on single-use plastic bags. Grocers and retailers need to do their part to keep plastic out of our environment.
National and regional grocers and retailers are major sources of single-use plastic bags, utensils, and food packaging. They are often also the biggest obstacle to change, lobbying against state-wide and local plastic bag ordinances.
Call on grocers and retailers to step up by:
Publicly supporting state-wide plastic bag bans.
Eliminating single-use plastic bags from all their stores.
Replacing single-use plastic utensils and to-go food containers with recyclable or compostable alternatives.
